Our Humanitarian Projects

Promoting Human Welfare Around the World

Striving to make the world a better place is important to the Mid-Atlantic Bowhunters Chapter. Our goal is to make an impact where we can and partner with organizations who are making a real difference.

Blue Bag Project

Mid-Atlantic Bowhunters Chapter Blue Bag Project is our way of giving back to communities of need around the world. With your help, our chapter provides much needed supplies for schools, orphanages or medical clinics around the world. The project’s name is derived by the large blue duffel bags which bring items of relief to remote areas by hunters. We fill the bags so that you can take them on your next hunt and, if time permits, you can experience the joy of giving. Several blue bags have been delivered by our chapter to areas, such as, a clinic in Kamanjab, Namibia, a school in Masailand, Tanzania and the Malelane Orphanage in Mpumalanga, South Africa.

St. Jude’s Research Hospital’s Annual Crush ‘N Clay: - Mid-Atlantic Bowhunters Chapter

St. Jude’s Research Hospital’s Annual Crush ‘N Clay

St. Jude’s Crush ‘n Clay is the largest running shooting charity in the country. Each year, the Mid-Atlantic Bowhunters Chapter sponsors a team which participates in the Arlington/Fairfax Isaac Walton League event. While this is a great opportunity to shoot with friends and enjoy the outdoors, it offers the added benefit of being for a really great cause. Since its inception, this event has raised over $348,000.

Loudoun Hunger Relief: - Mid-Atlantic Bowhunters Chapter

Loudoun Hunger Relief

Loudoun Hunger Relief (formerly Loudoun Interfaith Relief) serves the Loudoun County area of Northern Virginia. It provides fresh groceries for families, senior citizens, the working poor, the ill or diabled and homeless.  During the COVID-19 crisis, Loudoun Hunger Relief supplied tens of thousands of pounds of emergency preparedness food to help families shelter in place, as well as continuing their regular food distributions each week.  MABC-SCI is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to Loudoun Hunger Relief who do so much to help our neighbors and surrounding communities during these unprecedented times.

World Central Kitchen: - Mid-Atlantic Bowhunters Chapter

World Central Kitchen

Due to the humanitarian crisis caused by Covid-19, MABC-SCI donated to the World Central Kitchen (WCK).  WCK continually makes a real difference in helping to provide meals to millions of Americans. There services were invaluable to the many Americans that were out of work and struggling to put food on the table during the crisis. The World Central Kitchen Relief Team serves nearly 100,000 meals every day across the country.
