Education

In addition to supporting Hunters Rights, Safari Club International and our Chapter have three other main areas of involvement: Education, Humanitarian, and Conservation.  This new page is devoted to illustarting some of our Educational endeavors.

2016 Children’s Fishing Derby

Once again Mid-Atlantic was one of the contributors and sponsors to the Lovettsville Game Protective Association’s annual

Children’s fishing derby.  This event is provided to the children and their families at no charge, each

participant receives fishing gear and instruction as needed, afterward each child receives a prize and a delicious lunch

is provided to all family members. In addition to being a financial contributor Mid-Atlantic and its generous volunteers  provided personal opportunities

for each child to have a sensory educational wildlife experience through SCI’s “Hands on Safari”, provided individual Archery training and

the extremely popular opportunity to shoots bows, gave out fun wildlife games and prizes, and passed out brochures and explained the mission

of SCI and Mid-Atlantic to the parents. A great time was had by both the participants and the volunteers, and I’m sure many new outdoors men and women

were created and inspired by this even.
